Sarah is translating for Vicki, Jerry, Bud and Laura

Sarah was the full-time official translator/interpreter while Vicki and Jerry and their friends came to town. We drove along with them to Vina del Mar, with them following in their rental car. We went to lunch together and then Mike and I headed back to Santiago, while Sarah stayed in Vina with the Vicki/Jerry and friends. She was expecting to help them also, find their way over the border here, leaving from the tip of our mission in Los Andes zone/Portillo to cross over the frontera to Mendoza, Argentia. However the border patrol had another idea....

Sarah called us from the border at the top of the Andes Mtns to report to us that the customs people would NOT allow then to go over the border without official papers for the rental car!!!! No kidding. Sarah was trying to do all of the talking, explained that they were just going for 2 days, and then they'd be back to Santiago. We got the rental car company on the phone, and they also told us that they couldn't approve this since it normally takes 10 days to approve this. Sarah was a trooper, trying to calm the angry waters in the car, as they headed back to Santiago. After a yummy dinner for all of them at TGIFridays, they seemed happy again. Ready for more adventures on Saturday, as they will head south, past Concepcion and ELder GREG, on to Pucon.
