Getting ready for the Folks to Arrive!

To tell you the truth, this is as exciting as having visiting authorities arrive!
We are so thrilled that Mom and Dad/Grandma and Grandpa are coming to see us
in Santiago! How much fun we'll have and we are so excited to show them the mission
and meet all of the great missionaries we have. Here's what is on the itinerary:

They arrive in Santiago about 5:30am on Friday, April 17th and we can tell you, they'll be exhausted and have the ol' screen saver on their faces for the first little while! We will take them back to our mission home, and let them shower, freshen up and then at 9am the new missionaries from the last 2 changes will be arriving for a capacitacion-training that we will hold, from 9-12noon. Then about 12:30, with the folks involved since this group is English speaking, we'll have a delightful lunch, with our Chef-extraordinar treating us to culinary delights.
We'll get them into bed early on Friday, and Saturday, we will take them out to Pomaire and Sto Domingo, near San Antonio beach. It is beautiful and they'll like the scenery and little places to shop and see artists of all kinds of handiwork. Home to bed again early to help with jet lag.

Sunday to church meetings and to get acquainted with some of our American friends.
Monday, hopefully Sarah will have a bball game, but not confirmed, and then Tues/Wed they will take a tour bus, wiht practically sleeper seats to head for 5 hours south to Concepcion. They will stay at a gorgeous, 4-star hotel, and then see the sights, but probably not elder May! They hopefully will drop off a care-package at his mission office right in town, and then take their city tour. Head back Wed afternoon.

Thurs and Friday they will be going to attend our 2 zone conferences, and they both agreed to speak for 5 minutes on doctrine of their choice. We are looking forward to that and they are too. You know Mom, I'm hoping she'll try to throw in some of her own thoughts in Spanish, without the translator helping.
Friday afternoon we will head out to Vina del Mar, after Sarah is home from her practice and have a great hotel, Hotel Oceanic hangs right on the cliffs of the beach. We have ocean view rooms, and the pace is wonderful. We will all be ready for some rest and relaxation. There is a great restaurante called Santa Brasa that we will introduce them to in the hills there. Back home later Saturday night, to prepare for Sunday.

Sunday to our same meetings and Mike to his own schedule. Tues, Wed, Thur we will see the local sights around Santiago, taking a few days for the metro, going up the tram to the top of Cerro San Cristobal, and seeing the statue of Virgin Maria. Also visit Los Domincos, the artists centro here in town, along with the Bohemian village like San Francisco of shows, theatres and "Agua para Chocolate" Restaurant. They'll love that. We'll take them to a show, malls, horses if they want, and more...we know they will have a great time, and we can't begin to explain what a sweet memory this will be for us too, to be able to share this great country, city and mission with them. We can't wait til Friday!
